Annually in October, CCHF hosts its General Meeting for the General Membership.  The annual election of the Board and Board Officers, takes place at this meeting.

 

The Nominating Committee presents to the general membership at the General Meeting for their action, the list of nominees to the Board collected during the previous month.  This is followed by nominations from the floor.  After nominations are closed, the election of the Board takes place.

 

Board Member Eligibility:

  • Only General Members may serve on the Board.

  • Only one family member may serve on the Board at any time.  For the purpose of this restriction, a family member is recognized as residing in the same house and/or being a spouse, significant other, sibling or blood relation up to and including the first cousin.

  • Persons representing patient services and/or sales manufacturing groups dealing with hemophilia may not account for more than one-third of the membership of the Board at any time.  For the purpose of this restriction, “person representing patient services and/or sales manufacturing groups dealing with hemophilia,” includes the spouse, significant other, sibling or blood relation up to and including the first cousin of a person employed by patient services and/or sales manufacturing groups.

  • Of the nine (9) members on the Board, one of whom must be a representative from the Foundation’s Medical Advisory Board.

Voter Eligibility:

  • Only General Members whose membership has been approved no later than 30 days prior to General Meeting are eligible to vote.

 

The newly elected Board then meets in executive session to elect the Officers.  The new Officers are presented to the General Membership during the meeting and assure their new duties at the close of the meeting.
